Hail
Brava tile carries a Class 4 impact rating under UL 2218. The test drops a 2-inch steel ball onto the tile from 20 feet — twice. The tile has to survive both strikes without cracking. That is the same test asphalt shingles fail at lower impact levels, and it is the reason most Texas carriers offer a discount for a Class 4 roof.
Insurance
Most Texas carriers give 20–35% off the dwelling portion of your premium for a Class 4 roof. On a $500,000 home that typically works out to $700–$1,500 per year. The discount is not automatic — your insurer needs documentation. We provide the impact-resistance certification and product specs at closeout so you have what you need to file.
Wind
Brava tile is wind rated to 188 MPH when installed with ring-shank nails, and 211 MPH with a screw-down fastening schedule. A Category 5 hurricane starts at 157 MPH. No DFW wind event is touching that, and the fastener choice is something we walk you through before install.
Texas sun
Brava uses a Colorcast mineral-infusion process — the color runs all the way through the tile, not painted on the surface. Dye-based color fades under Texas UV. Mineral color does not. Every Brava roof carries a transferable 50-year limited warranty, and the color is part of what that warranty covers.

CERTIFIED INSTALLATION
Most composite-tile failures that get reported are not material failures. They are installation failures — non-certified crews fastening composite tile the way they fasten asphalt shingle, which is not how the product is engineered to go down. The Class 4 impact rating, the wind rating, and the 50-year warranty all depend on the tile being fastened to Brava’s factory schedule.
